Happy Wednesday Parents and Carers!

I hope everyone enjoyed the play last evening! I thought the boys did fantastic with their roles, lines, and stage positioning and presence. Here are a few photos moments before we went on stage. I am so impressed and proud of you guys!

The boys decided to begin our sensory activity with an old favourite, Go Noodle dancing. Guided dancing and sensory circuits are both great activities to help regulate and demonstrate great body and muscle awareness, proprioceptive, vestibular and bilateral movements, fine and gross motor skills, motor planning, and auditory processing.

Mr. Avery was our teacher today and led the class through time (past, present, and future), calendar work (years, months, days, and weeks), emotions and feelings, and morning greetings.

Our final four day countdown has been marked by balloons with numbers. Here is Avery popping the "four" balloon as we only have three days remaining in the school year.

In Math today we completed some Jump Math sheets on polygons. They did so well with their work, and demonstrated fantastic fine motor skills while using a ruler.

Eric and Avery had a play session with Lego's while Evan completed a sensory circuit.

In Language Arts today the boys started working on their Memory Books from the school year. They did very well discussing memories, favourite subjects and games, and who their friends are.

In gym class today we played a fun game that was a mix of dodgeball, man hunt, and American Gladiators (haha). There were two "sharp shooter" at the front of the gym who had several foam balls. The runners had to go through a course hiding behind mats without getting hit by a ball. The objective was to manoeuvre towards the front and grab the "key" (circular cone), and then take it all the way back to the beginning and put it on a pylon. If you got hit by a ball you had to drop the "key" where you got hit, and your teammates could pick it up and continue running towards the pylon. However, once the "key" was taken, the two sharpshooters could leave their mats and attack from anywhere on the course, and bring back the "key" to the front. The boys demonstrated great auditory processing skills, hand-eye coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, motor planning, fine and gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, and balance and coordination.

In Social Skills today we joined Ms. Andrea's class to make and decorate our graduation hats for Friday. We used our creative art skills, fine motor skills, turn taking, oral communication skills, and social skills. The boys also tidied up the cafeteria by sweeping, mopping, wiping tables, and picking up garbage.

In the sensory gym we worked on our hand-eye coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, motor planning, fine and gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, math, time, phonics and rhyming skills, and balance and coordination.

At the end of the day we went over our Zones of Regulation and used different coloured blocks to symbolize how our day was, and how different times of the day went. We also got to share our own ideas and thoughts on how our day went, and took turns saying one nice thing about our friends from today's work. This was followed by gardening work and continuing to complete our Memory Books.

Have a great evening gentlemen!

Mr. Jacob : )
