Happy Tuesday Students, Parents, and Carers!

Today was our amazing field trip to Mountsberg Conservation Area near Campbellville, Ontario, which  is widely known for their Raptor Centre. They had a variety of birds, like a Golden Eagle, Bald Eagles, Turkey Vultures, Snowy Owl, Barn Owl, Brown Owl, Horned Owl, and many types of Falcons and Hawks. We also saw some sheep and goats! It was very exciting to see, meet, and learn about all of the animals, and we had some great questions for our tour guide! We used great auditory processing, listening skills, questioning and answering skills, oral communication skills, co-regulation skills, play skills, social skills and life skills.

Here we are checking out the Bald Eagle and Snowy Owl.

Bros!
Looking at some of the Owls, Hawks and Falcons.

Sticking together.

Waiting for our Birds of Prey presentation.

Touching different feathers and talons.

Finally, play time! We got to play on a straw playground, old wagon, and fun Pirate Ship themed barn where everyone demonstrated great auditory processing skills, teamwork, social skills, sportsmanship, motor planning, body mapping, sequencing, gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, and balance and coordination.

Two of our friends bought some gifts and used their money skills, life skills, and social skills!

Here we are back at school learning our dance moves for our Christmas concert! Shhhh it is a secret for now! : )

Next, we all brainstormed ideas for our Science Fair at the end of the month. We had some great ideas and questions for our projects.

Boats and what floats?
Catapults
Parachutes

Some other photos that Ms. Monika took!

HOMEWORK:

Look at, discuss, research, and inquire about a scientific problem and/or question to test/investigate. Students have all chosen their own topics, and for homework they can come up with a more specific question/hypothesis, as well as look at materials needed.

Have a great evening everyone!

Mr. Jacob : )
