Happy Holidays Parents and Carers!

Sorry I did not post yesterday after school. Here is our last day of school in 2015, and it was a great way to end the year!

The boys came in with a lot of energy and excitement for the holidays. We started off the day by playing a Shapes-Pattern-Hang-Man type game.

Our dear friend Jordan in Ms. Andrea's class made Christmas cards for the entire school! We have been so busy these past few weeks our class did not make any cards for friends! So, we got right down to work, like Santa's elves, and began making cards.
Jordan was 'over-the-moon' happy and excited that he received cards from some of his best buds at school!
Looking speechless haha.

After card making and decorating the boys were antsy and needed to move. Here we are participating in some bean bag crashes.

The boys had a break through Art session with their friends in St. Judes. It was the first session where they branched away from one another and socialized solely on their own with new and old friends! They had so much fun colouring Christmas photos and sharing laughs.

Santa Claus came to visit us in our classroom! It appears that Santa is on the Atkins diet and looking rather slim and trim! Hahaha

Partner Play time: two way communication, oral communication skills, turn taking, money skills, creativity, role play, life skills, social problem solving, and teamwork.

Immediately after lunch the boys joined the St. Judes' Grade 1/2 P.E. class for some fun games. They all did well demonstrating gross motor skills, balance and coordination, proprioception and bilateral movements, teamwork, auditory processing skills, and sportsmanship.

Avery's "It"

In the sensory gym we worked on our hand-eye coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, fine and gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, math and rhyming skills, and balance and coordination.

Ms. Ella's class put on a Christmas Puppet Show for the primary classes at the end of the day. What a great performance with their own dialogue, jokes, and acting skills!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all! Have a wonderful holiday, be safe, have fun, and I shall see you in the New Year!

PS. Thank you for the lovely cards and gifts!

Bonjour Parents and Carers! (That is one of seven French words I know haha)

The boys had a busy and exciting Wednesday, and they were full of energy! They must know a special someone is coming to town soon. : )

We decided to get active right away today as everyone was very hyper and excited. Evan participated in his sensory diet with Mr. Jared while Eric and Avery danced with myself. Here are two photos of the boys practicing some dance moves from a great Just Dance Disney song: "Hot, hot, hot".

Everyone has been doing so well with their mental math and addition and subtraction skills. I have witnessed tremendous growth in a short span of time. This is one math game that has helped the boys practice quick, mental math and addition and subtraction. It is a game that we made up ourselves, and it involves fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, bilateral movement, and visual-spatial awareness.

Avery is having a turn.
Recorded our score.
Eric's turn!
Adding up our scores.

Mr. Avery was the teacher today. He went through time, calendar work, days to Christmas, emotions and feelings.

After morning circle Mr. Jared led the boys through a game of Magic Squares, which utilizes gross motor skills, bilateral movements, problem solving skills, team work, sportsmanship, and two way communication skills.

Mr. Jared read the boys a silly story about a farting dog! They absolutely loved it of course. Haha

While one of our friends chose to participate in a sensory circuit, Eric and Avery did well in Partner Play. They demonstrated creativity, food knowledge and awareness, turn taking, money skills, two way communication, engagement, and problem solving skills.

Writing our own menus! We had shrimp tacos, burritos, blueberry pie, and pizza!
Looks like a massive food fight! Haha

We continued playing Link Tag in gym class today, as well as had a turn on the Hot Wheels bike.

In the sensory gym we worked on our hand-eye coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, fine and gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, math and rhyming skills, and balance and coordination.

We enjoyed watching St. Judes' Christmas Concert! It was very entertaining and our friends in St. Judes did very well

During Minute to Win It we worked on our concentration and focus, hand-eye coordination, proprioception skills, bilateral movements, fine and gross motor skills, math skills, time management, sportsmanship skills, and how to work through our emotions.

Wow I cannot believe we did all of that today! Great Wednesday gentlemen and I shall see you tomorrow!
