Happy Friday Parents and Carers!

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came out last night and attended Oakwood's Christmas Concert! It was a huge success and the boys did absolutely amazing!

Today, after the marathon we endured yesterday, was a fun hands-on Art and Science Friday. The boys worked on time skills, team building, regulation, oral communication, problem solving, and utilized their visual-spatial, fine motor, and hands-eye coordination skills.

Here is Avery starting off the morning by going over time, and our daily schedule.

Eric and Avery, while Evan was completing his sensory program, worked together in our Math Auditory Processing Memory game.
Eric is reading out his instructions for Avery.
Avery is focused on the shapes grid to remember what Eric's instructions were.
Avery is busy creating his own list of instructions for Eric using numbers, shapes, and colours.
Eric is eyeing down the grid.

Mr. Avery is observing Mr. Evan during our morning circle session.

Eric is going over the month, date, day, and year.

In Art class today, we completed some really cool hands-on, fine motor Christmas cards. The boys had to use their visual-spatial, hands-eye, and fine motor skills to create different cards using their fingers and hands, and also bingo dabbers.

Bingo Dabbers
Eric's "I didn't take any cookies!" face. Haha

Getting messy and loving it!
Hmmm..what else does this need?
Hey, bingo dabbers are for paper! Haha
Team work.
Admiring our masterpiece!

After our snack break and recess we showed our friends some favourite toys during Show and Tell. The boys demonstrated turn taking, listening skills, questioning skills, two-way communication, and oral communication skills.

In Science, the boys were given toothpicks and marshmallows to create something. We discussed what holiday was coming up, and what we could make from our supplies. After five to six minutes of brain storming we came up with a Christmas tree!

The initial first steps.

Creativity, concentration, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, visual spatial skills, math skills, and great problem solving skills and communication.

Our Christmas Trees!

What a fun and great way to end a fabulous week! Great work gentlemen and see you all on Monday. Have an amazing weekend!

Mr. Jacob : )
