The boys came flying in today with loads of energy and giggles to start the week. We began the day with a fun fine motor, hands-eye math game. Right from the start there was a disagreement about how to play it properly. All three gentlemen maintained their composure and engaged in two way conversation, oral communication skills, listening skills, compromising skills, self-regulation and turn taking. After a fifteen minute discussion/debate, the boys settled their differences and had a great session. They even congratulated one another after the match, and did not display poor sportsmanship over their finishing place.
Let the debate begin!
Turn taking and "in-the-zone" faces.
Adding up the scores.
Writing the scores.
After the game we needed some regulation time and physical activity. The boys had funa dn did well following the moves to two different songs.
During morning circle we went over what time everyone woke up at, when school, starts, and when our different sessions begin and end.
"Hmm...I wonder what time it is?"
Here is Mr. Evan leading our morning session: time, time management, calendar work, weather, feelings and proper social skills and communication.
Eric and Avery did a great job going over their phonics work books by coming up with 16 words that have the /sh/ sound!
In Gym today we played a real life version of Angry Birds with our friends in Ms. Jessica and Ms. Andrea's classes. The boys used fine and gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, bilateral movements, motor planning, and sportsmanship.
