We began our Tuesday by creating and completing a small sensory circuit in our classroom. We worked on our bilateral, vestibular, and proprioceptive movements, fine and gross motor skills, motor planning, balance and coordination, hand-eye coordination, visual spatial skills, and math skills.
Mr. Avery was our teacher today and led the class through time (past, present, and future), calendar work (years, months, days, and weeks), emotions and feelings, morning greetings, and what we did for March Break.
In Language Arts today the boys participated in rotating centres that worked on spelling, grammar, phonics, phonological and phonemic awareness, blending and segmenting, letter awareness, fine motor and oral language skills,
In gym today we played a fun dodge ball game called, Doctor Dodge. We worked with our friends in Ms. Andrea and Ms. Jessica's classes on sportsmanship and teamwork. The boys also utilized their bilateral, vestibular, and proprioceptive movements, fine and gross motor skills, motor planning, balance and coordination, hand-eye coordination, and visual spatial skills.
In Social Skills today we worked with our peers in Ms. Andrea's class. Everyone worked together to brainstorm what they think of when they hear "Easter"! We came up with flowers, rain, chocolate, eggs, bunnies, toys, etc. Next, we made Easter flowers and bunny rabbits our of various materials with our peers! Great creativity, fine motor skills, and social skills at work.
In the sensory gym we worked on our hand-eye coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, motor planning, fine and gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, math, time, and rhyming skills, and balance and coordination.
At the very end of the day we got to engage in some Partner Play and team building with our friends in our class.
