Happy rainy Thursday Parents and Carers!

The boys, Mr. Jeremy and I decided to play some Scooter Ball Tag, but with some new activities. The boys also completed some relay races and a rope pulling activity. We worked on our bilateral, vestibular, and proprioceptive movements, fine and gross motor skills, motor planning, balance and coordination, hand-eye coordination, visual spatial skills, and math skills. It was so so much fun!

Mr. Avery was our teacher today and led the class through time (past, present, and future), calendar work (years, months, days, and weeks), emotions and feelings, and morning greetings.

We spent a lot of time today going over our emotions, facial expressions, what other people may think we're feeling, how we are actually feeling, and how to work through problems.  The boys worked on their emotions and how they present their feelings to others via facial expressions. Here we are using a mirror to help support our work.

The boys wanted to continue working on our pizza party that we have been trying to plan in term 2. We are now so, so close to finalizing all of the details. The boys used number sense and numeracy, fractions, multiplication and division, oral language and two-way communication skills, problem solving skills, social skills, and team work.

Here we are trying to solve when the pizza needs to be ready, and how long it will take us to cook and serve.

After snack and recess most of the boys wanted to play a fun Math Superhero Lego game. The boys had to take turns, work together, and use addition and subtraction to solve problems and then find the clue to what colour Lego and how many Lego's they can receive to build their superhero. After each Superhero was built, they had to draw it and then use fractions to show how many super powers they had, and what their super powers were.

Mr. Zachary was determined to finish some food pricing for our pizza party during this time. He worked very well with Mr. Jacob.

During recess everyone agreed to play Dr. Dodgeball. The boys got to work on their hand-eye coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, motor planning, fine and gross motor skills,
proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, and balance and coordination.

During recess some of our friends had some difficulties completing a game together. Here we are discussing our problems by engaging in some social problem solving, two-way communication, turn taking, and talking about our emotions and feelings.

During Minute to Win It we worked on our concentration and focus, hand-eye coordination, proprioception skills, bilateral movements, fine and gross motor skills, math skills, time management, sportsmanship skills, and how to work through our emotions. Everyone did very well and enjoyed our Minute to Win It relay race!

In the sensory gym we worked on our hand-eye coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, motor planning, fine and gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, math, time, and rhyming skills, and balance and coordination.

At the very end of the day the boys wanted to play our Pizza Fractions board game. They did very well socializing, turn taking, using oral communication skills, and applying their math knowledge!

Have a great evening and see you all tomorrow!

Mr. Jacob : )
