Happy Friday Parents and Carers!

My oh my does the week go by quickly when you start on a Wednesday! Haha

The boys had an excellent hands-on day during art and science. Here is what our day looked like:

We began with our Friday Show and Tell, which is great for language and oral communication skills, discussing interests, like and dislikes, and feelings and emotions.

Eric brought in an Ipad.

Evan brought in his Pillow Puppy.

While Evan was completing his sensory circuit Zachary and Eric played a math game. This game utilizes mental maths, addition, subtraction, multiplication, fine and gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, bilateral movements, proprioception movements, teamwork and sportsmanship.

The boys joined their friends in Ms. Jessica and Ms. Andrea's classes for art today. Everyone had fun going outside to find pinecones. After the scavenger hunt, we discussed what pinecones feel like, where they are found, and what we can make out of them with string, WOW peanut butter, and bird seed: bird feeders! A great problem solving, active, hands-on activity utilizing fine motor skills.

In science today we looked at our five senses in general, and our sense of hearing in more detail. Everyone got to experiment with different materials and instruments to make different noises and sounds. We then got into three different groups to explore how sound is made: through vibrations and sound waves. The boys had a blast using a tuning fork in water, playing the guitar, and watching rice dance while using a vibrating speaker and music.

I pulled out the trusty guitar after several years of neglect! A little rusty but I remembered how to strum five chords with minimal error. Haha

Future rock stars!

What a fun way to end our short week back! Have a safe and restful weekend everyone.

Mr. Jacob : )
