Happy Monday Parents and Carers!

Today was an exciting day as the boys go to meet our new teaching assistant, Ms. Amber. We had an exciting day showing her our classroom, the school, and some of the cool things we do on a regular basis.

We began the day by introducing ourselves, sharing some of our favourite things, and telling Ms. Amber how old we are. The boys then figured out who was the teacher by looking at our old blog posts, which was a great idea and problem solver!

Here is Avery showing us the time and when we begin our morning routine.
Eric is busy writing down the day, month, date, and year.
Evan is showing his friends our time management and daily schedule.
Avery is going over the days of the week.

The boys asked Ms. Amber to play with them after morning circle. Here they are making Lego items to sell, label, and price out for our shop.

After snack and recess I introduced our new term topic using a pizza box and pretend pizza! Yes, we will be focusing all of our activities around pizza this term. In Language Arts, we looked at new words associated with pizza, and played a fun hands-eye coordination, auditory processing, and visual-spatial game.

The boys then completed a work sheet asking them to trace the word pizza, write it down, build it using letter blocks, find the word in a word search, and then write a sentence using the word pizza.

We played a fun game of Bandaid Tag with our friends in Ms. Jessica and Ms. Andrea's classes. We worked on our fine and gross motor skills, proprioceptive awareness, bilateral movements, sportsmanship, and teamwork.

During Minute to Win It we worked on our concentration and focus, hand-eye coordination, proprioception skills, bilateral movements, fine and gross motor skills, math skills, time management, sportsmanship skills, and how to work through our emotions.

In Social Skills we listened to a story about the dreaded word, "no!" Friends then engaged in a rotating Partner Play session focusing on the word "no" when someone said we couldn't do something or had to stop.

In the sensory gym we worked on our hand-eye coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, fine and gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, math and rhyming skills, and balance and coordination.

Lastly, Ms. Amber led the class through a fun "get-to-know-me" art lesson. She introduced herself, and then the class shared things that they enjoy. Ms. Amber then handed out puzzle pieces and everyone created a puzzle piece, and then we put them together for our class masterpiece!

Have a lovely evening and see you tomorrow!

Mr. Jacob : )
