Happy Monday Parents and Carers!

The boys were full of energy and emotion to begin the week! I think everyone should sleep well tonight! Haha

Evan started the day off by completing his sensory circuit with Ms. Amber in the auditorium. Eric and Zachary started the day off by playing a game of charades (using animals and different careers, for example, a monkey and doctor).

Mr. Eric was the teacher today and chose Mr. Zachary to change our days of the week and look at today, tomorrow, and yesterday.

After morning circle, which took a lot, lot longer than usual, we began our work on China. All morning we looked at where China is, what time it is there, how big it is (land size), population size, their flag, and what our names look like in Chinese.

In gym today we played a fun team building game called "Backyard" that utilized our fine and gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, vestibular and proprioceptive movements, motor palnning, and sportsmanship.

In social skills we looked at different countries from around the world, where some of our friends have been before, and where their families are from. Next, we made our own passports to travel to some cool places!

In the sensory gym we worked on our hand-eye coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, motor planning, fine and gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, math and rhyming skills, and balance and coordination.

At the very end of the day we participated in a fun and challenging Team Building Game. The boys had to create a structure using straws, play-doh, and elastic bands, that would hold up four marshmallows. The marshmallows couldn't touch the desk or play-doh, and the marshmallows could not be punctured by the straws. Also, a new rule for today, the marshmallow had to also be resting on something. A great game for problem solving, abstract thinking, teamwork, sportsmanship, fine motor skills, oral and two way communication, and math skills.

Have a lovely evening and see you all tomorrow! Remember, we have our weekly gymnastics session tomorrow afternoon.

Mr. Jacob : )
