Happy Thursday Parents and Carers!

The boys began the day by introducing themselves to our new part-time TA Ms. Kelsey. She is helping out our class and Ms. Andrea's for the remainder of the year. After our greetings the boys helped print out, count, and deliver our consent forms for a school outing on Monday, May 12th. We are planning to go to Home Depot and purchase flowers and seeds for our school garden. Everyone did very well using their math and social skills!

For St. Jude's gym class today we went outside to practice long jump for the upcoming track & field meet. Our boys had some of the top jumps and did so well! They demonstrated sportsmanship, motor planning, gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, and balance and coordination.

Mr. Evan was our teacher today and led the class through time (past, present, and future), calendar work (years, months, days, and weeks), emotions and feelings, and morning greetings.

In Language Arts today we continued to work on our Peter Pan Play. The boys did very well practicing their roles and lines for our Peter Pan play! We had lots of fun with our friends and demonstrated great oral communication skills, team work, creativity, motor planning, body awareness, and body language.

In Social Skills today Ms. Hope went out and bought some fruit for everyone to make homemade popsicles! The boys did great choosing their fruit, mashing their fruit, and measuring the appropriate amount of water. We cannot wait to eat them tomorrow!

Before we went into the sensory gym we went over our previous work on nouns and adjectives. We then got to use our Question Wheel and previous knowledge on adjectives, our five senses, and describing words to figure out what Mr. Jacob had in a paper bag. They all did so well with their turn taking, teamwork, patience, and application of previous lessons from Language Arts and Science.

In the sensory gym we worked on our hand-eye coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, motor planning, fine and gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, math, time, phonics and rhyming skills, and balance and coordination.

Afterwards we went over our Zones of Regulation and used different coloured blocks to symbolize how our day was, and how different times of the day went. We also got to share our own ideas and thoughts on how our day went, and took turns saying one nice thing about our friends from today's work.

Have a great evening gentlemen!

Mr. Jacob : )
