Happy Tuesday Parents and Carers!

The boys and I began the day with some building and magic tricks before morning circle. They were very quick and smart as I only fooled them once during the magic show! These were fun games utilizing their math skills, visual skills, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills.

Mr. Eric was our teacher today and led the class through time (past, present, and future), calendar work (years, months, days, and weeks), emotions and feelings, morning greetings, and rules for swimming.

We joined St. Jude's gym class today and practiced for the upcoming Track & Field competition. We will be joining them for the meet at the end of the month! The boys did so well racing against their peers and not to brag, but we won most of the races. Great job gentlemen! : )

Before recess we had some time to engage in Partner Play/ Play Master."Play Master" is when one friend gets five minutes to dictate and run a game with their own rules. After five minutes is up the next friend gets to be the 'play master', and so on. This is a great game for social skills, communication, turn taking, creativity, fine motor skills, and emotions.

In Math and Language Arts today the boys had to decipher a hidden message using various words and shapes. Next, we read a math-mystery book called Mummy Math about the Egyptian Pyramids and shapes. The boys also made old scroll paper using tea bags and chalk. after making the scroll paper they had to make a secret message using words and shapes themselves. They did so well using their oral and written language skills, spelling skills, and math skills.

Cracking the code!

Making our scroll paper with construction paper, tea bags, and chalk.

In Gym class today we played a new game with our friends from Ms. Andrea's, Ms. Ella's, Mr. Scott's, and Ms. Jessica's class called "Capture the Flag". It was slightly different than the classic version but everyone did very well. The boys demonstrated great auditory processing skills, hand-eye coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, motor planning, fine and gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, and balance and coordination.

This afternoon was our second swimming session! The boys and I were very excited and the boys did so well in the pool. Everyone followed our rules, worked well with the pool staff, and remained regulated for the entire duration. We demonstrated teamwork, sportsmanship, motor planning, gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, coordination, auditory processing skills, body and safety awareness.

Have a restful evening gentlemen!

Mr. Jacob : )
