The first thing we did today was go outside and complete a fun obstacle course on the playground. They demonstrated sportsmanship, motor planning, gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, and balance and coordination.
In Math and Language Arts today the boys had to decipher a hidden message using various words and shapes. Next, we read a math-mystery book called Mummy Math about the Egyptian Pyramids and shapes. The boys had to first find hidden clues around the classroom to solve the secret message on the white board. Next, we finished our book and tried to help Matt and Bibi find their way out of the pyramid. They did so well using their oral and written language skills, spelling skills, and math skills.
Our book Mummy Math about two twins, Matt and Bibi, and their dog, Riley, on their Egyptian mummy adventure!

Making their own secret map to help the twins in Mummy Math find their way out of the pyramid.
In Language Arts today we continued to work on our Peter Pan Play. The boys did very well practicing their roles and lines for our Peter Pan play! We had lots of fun with our friends and demonstrated great oral communication skills, team work, creativity, motor planning, body awareness, and body language.
After lunch it was our turn to clean the Oakwood cafeteria. The boys did so well working together to clean up after lunch. They swept, mopped, wiped, and threw away all of the left over food and wrappers. Well done gentlemen! : )
In social skills today we decided to play Four Squares because we missed gym in the morning. This game is similar to dodgeball and everyone did very well. The boys demonstrated great auditory processing skills, hand-eye coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, motor planning, fine and gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, and balance and coordination.
After social skills we finished our secret scroll maps from this morning's language and math lesson.
At the end of the day we went over our Zones of Regulation and used different coloured blocks to symbolize how our day was, and how different times of the day went. We also got to share our own ideas and thoughts on how our day went, and took turns saying one nice thing about our friends from today's work. This was followed by some Partner Play and our Question Bag game where they had to utilize their turn taking, oral communication skills, problem solving skills, social skills, adjectives, descriptive language, questioning skills, and play skills.
Have a great evening gentlemen!
Mr. Jacob : )
