After 3 months of planning, brainstorming, shopping, decorating, making, creating, cooking, adding, slicing, dicing, shredding, and blood, sweat, and tears (well no blood at least haha), today was our big day. The Pizza Party!!!!!!
The boys wanted to get loose and move before we went to the kitchen all morning! Ball tag is a great activity to help regulate and demonstrate great body and muscle awareness, proprioceptive, vestibular and bilateral movements, fine and gross motor skills, motor planning, and sportsmanship.
Let the cooking, stretching, kneading, rolling, stirring, shredding, saucing, cheesing begin!
Preparing the dough
Eric shredding our mozzarella
Evan kneading the dough
Zachary rolling the dough
Avery mixing our gluten-free dough mix
Eric preparing our pizza sauce
Zachary shredding some cheese
Avery stirring and mixing our gluten-free dough
Evan shredding the cheese (wwe used a lot of cheese!)
Rrrrroling the dough
Saucing and cheesing our pizzas
Mama Mia! Perfection!
Decorating for our party!
Setting up the tables
Serving our guests drinks and appetizers
Cutting the pizza into slices and serving everyone's proper order
Finally, at last! Enjoying our pizza! Yummmmm!
For social skills today we talked about the Zones of Regulation, and how to play with our friends. The boys then participated in a "Play Master" session where one friend gets five minutes to dictate and run a game with their own rules. After five minutes is up the next friend gets to be the 'play master', and so on. This is a great game for social skills, communication, turn taking, creativity, fine motor skills, and emotions.
In the sensory gym we worked on our hand-eye coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, motor planning, fine and gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, math, time, phonics and rhyming skills, and balance and coordination.
At recess we played a whole school game called "Security Guard". Someone had to to be the security guard and yell "go", which let everyone know to start running towards the guard. When the guard turned around everyone had to freeze. Burglars that the security guard caught moving had to start from the beginning. Once a burglar got to the security guard there was a breach in security and the guard had to chase the burglars. Whoever got caught was the next security guard!
At the end of the day we threw a dance party for Ms. Amber's last day! We gave her homemade cards, had some cake, and showed off our dance moves. Thank you for all of your support, kindness, and positive energy Ms. Amber. All the best from Mr. Jacob's class! : )
Goodbye Ms. Amber!!!!!!!
Have a great evening gentlemen and make sure you remember your Show & Tell tomorrow!
Mr. Jacob : )
