Happy Friday Parents and Carers!

The boys were very excited for our Show and Tell session, and we saw some new things today. Everyone had to describe their object, share why they brought it in, where they got it from, how long they have had it, and why it is so special.

Mr. Zachary was our teacher today and led the class through time (past, present, and future), calendar work (years, months, days, and weeks), emotions and feelings, and morning greetings.

As always, we began with some sensory dancing. Guided dancing and sensory circuits are both great activities to help regulate and demonstrate great body and muscle awareness, proprioceptive, vestibular and bilateral movements, fine and gross motor skills, motor planning, and auditory processing.

In art today we got together with our friends and drew a picture/ made a collage representing things that we like. Our pictures will be used for Mr. Nahji's surprise gift he has built for our school! We are very excited to see what it is and he has built it himself.

After recess we had an opportunity to engage in some Partner Play. Play is so good for social skills, math, language, communication, turn taking, teamwork, sportsmanship, emotions, and feelings.

In science we began looking at a new sense: our sense of smell. After completing a unit on sound and touch, Mr. Jacob introduced us to our sense of smell using various smells. Our friends had to smell coffee, hot chocolate powder, shaving foam, and a banana without looking. Everyone got to guess what they smelt after each item. It was a lot of fun! Afterwards we got into partners and made some homemade chocolate and vanilla smelling play-doh. What a fun and cool science lesson, especially when we got to eat chocolate cupcakes at the end!

Have a great weekend gentlemen and see you on Monday!

Mr. Jacob : )
