Happy Tuesday Parents and Carers!

The boys, Ms. Amber, and I had such a great day with lots of learning and fun. The day began with some sensory dancing on Go Noodle. Guided dancing is great sensory activity to help regulate and demonstrate great body and muscle awareness, proprioceptive and bilateral movements, gross motor skills, motor planning, and auditory processing.

Mr. Erc was our teacher today and led the class through time (past, present, and future), calendar work (years, months, days, and weeks), emotions and feelings, and morning greetings. We also spoke about some special days that are in February, for example, Groundhog's Day, Valentine's Day, Family Day, and Avery's birthday!

Mr. Jordan from Ms. Andrea's class came into our class at the perfect time. While we were looking at and discussing what Groundhog Day was, Jordan was conducting a survey about Groundhog Day. He was wondering if our friends thought the groundhog either (a) saw his shadow, or (b) did not see his shadow. As we found out online, he did not see his shadow, which means that there will be an early Spring!

Checking out the weather and the melting snow and ice.

Sharing our emotions.

In math today we had fun timing how long it took us to do certain activities. For example, we timed ourselves doing jumping jacks, twists, writing words, erasing words, and standing up and sitting down.

In language arts we played a fun pizza game involving rhyming, categories, synonyms, definitions, phonics, phonemic and phonological awareness. It was so much fun!

For the second day in row everyone got along so well during Dodgeball! There were no arguments or interruptions the entire game! We also got to work on hand-eye coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, motor planning, fine and gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, and balance and coordination.

Gymnastics was yet again a huge hit and success for everyone. The boys demonstrated excellent patience, listening skills, and movements in gymnastics today. We worked on our balance and coordination, proprioceptive, vestibular, and bilateral movements, sportsmanship, gross motor skills, and motor planning. We also got to spend some extra time on the slide, big trampoline, and foam pit!

Have a restful evening gentlemen and see you tomorrow!

Mr. Jacob : )
