The boys, Ms. Amber, and I started off the day stuffing our faces full of pancakes with the entire school! We had so much fun helping our houses eat a bunch of delicious pancakes! Mmmmmm
After our pancake eating contest we needed to burn off some energy and sugar! Evan went off to his sensory circuit while the other three did some dancing! Guided dancing and a sensory circuit are both great activities to help regulate and demonstrate great body and muscle awareness, proprioceptive, vestibular and bilateral movements, fine and gross motor skills, motor planning, and auditory processing.
Mr. Zachary was our teacher today and led the class through time (past, present, and future), calendar work (years, months, days, and weeks), emotions and feelings, and morning greetings.
In math today we looked a fractions using pizza! The boys had to build pizzas using different sized slices (i.e. fractions), as well as complete a fun fraction game using life like pizza slices with fractions written on them. It was a lot of fun and made us all hungry! Haha Everyone played so well together and there were no arguments the entire game! : )
In gym today we again looked at soccer skills. We participated in a fun obstacle course where we utilized and practiced our dribbling skills, ball control, accuracy, speed, and shooting.
Gymnastics was yet again a huge hit and success for everyone. The boys demonstrated excellent patience, listening skills, and movements in gymnastics today. We worked on our balance and coordination, proprioceptive, vestibular, and bilateral movements, sportsmanship, gross motor skills, and motor planning. We also got to spend some extra time on the slide, big trampoline, and foam pit!
Have a great evening and see you tomorrow gentlemen!
Mr. Jacob : )
