Happy Wednesday Parents and Carers!

Unfortunately, we only had two friends in class today! We do hope to see them tomorrow for our filed trip to the Play Centre!

Eric and Evan had a tremendous day together and worked collaboratively all day. They began with some new and old dance routines from Go Noodle. Guided dancing and sensory circuits are both great activities to help regulate and demonstrate great body and muscle awareness, proprioceptive, vestibular and bilateral movements, fine and gross motor skills, motor planning, and auditory processing.

Mr. Evan was our teacher today and led the class through time (past, present, and future), calendar work (years, months, days, and weeks), emotions and feelings, and morning greetings.

The rest of our early morning routine was spent in the cafeteria where we made some pizza pies! The boys worked together to go over all of the necessary and proper steps required to make pizza (from making the dough to putting it in the oven and eating it!) Eric and Evan used their math skills- number sense and numeracy, measurement, time, sequencing, and fractions, language skills- reading, writing, and following instructions, fine motor skills, and teamwork.

Here we are using a measuring cup for our dough.

Mixing the dough

Kneading the dough

Shredding the cheese

Rolling the dough

Spreading the pizza sauce

Sprinling the cheese

Showing off our delicious looking pizzas!

Cutting the pizza into slices using our pizza fraction pieces and previous knowledge on fractions.

At last, enjoying our yummy creations : )

In the afternoon both Eric and Evan were busy with OT and SLP sessions and goals, as well as using the sensory gym.

Here is Evan working hard with Ms. Leah

Eric is doing awesome work with Ms. Alison and Ms. Amber

In the sensory gym we worked on our hand-eye coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, motor planning, fine and gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, math, time, and rhyming skills, and balance and coordination.

What a fun and busy day gentlemen! I hope to see everyone tomorrow.

Mr. Jacob : )
