Happy Friday Parents and Carers!

As always we began our fun Friday with our Show and Tell session. Everyone had to describe their object, share why they brought it in, where they got it from, how long they have had it, and why it is so special. We also used a Question Wheel to help work on our questioning and answering skills, using descriptive language, and working on inferencing and oral communication skills.

For a sensory break the boys agreed on a quick game of Ball Tag. The boys got to work on their hand-eye coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, motor planning, fine and gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, and balance and coordination.

In Science and Art today we joined Ms. Andrea's and Ms. Jessica's classes. In art, the boys had to work with a teammate from another class to create something out of spring/ summer objects (i.e. pool noodles, golf tees, and toothpicks, paperclips, and fruit loops). They demonstrated great team work, oral communication skills, patience, turn taking, creativity, and fine motor skills.

For science we went outdoors to enjoy the beautiful weather. We began with a fun story about a hibernating bear, the four seasons, and what habitats are, mean, and look like in Canada.

Next, we had to sort different animals and plants and discuss if they would live in a forest, mountainous area, lake and/ or river, or the plains. This was followed by a sensory exploration experience where students got to feel, touch, and manipulate snow, ice, rocks, pine cones, pine needles, wheat, grass, and sticks for the appropriate habitat. It was a lot of fun and we had some great discussion and collaborative work!

Have a great weekend and enjoy the sunshine!

Mr. Jacob : )
