Happy Thursday Parents and Carers!

I apologize for not completing the blog yesterday. I accidentally deleted all of my photos for the day! : (

Unfortunately we still did not have a full class today, and so, we have postponed our No Frill's trip. I felt like it would be unfair for the boys to have worked so hard together on this, and then not have everyone participate.

The day began by continuing to make our pizza party decorations. The boys began making some Pizza Monster papier mache figures to hang in the cafeteria. They had fun getting messy, using their fine motor skills, and listening to music!

The boys attended St. Jude's Grade 1/2 gym class today and played a similar game to Manhunt. Mr. Eric was our key master and he had to spot the burglars in the museum before they got to the keys, and unlocked the safe. The boys got to work on their hand-eye coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, motor planning, fine and gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, and balance and coordination.

Zachary was our key master today!

Mr. Avery was our teacher today and led the class through time (past, present, and future), calendar work (years, months, days, and weeks), emotions and feelings, and morning greetings.

In Gym today we continued to play a fun tag type game called, Shark Attack! The boys demonstrated great auditory processing skills, hand-eye coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, motor planning, fine and gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, math, and balance and coordination.

After lunch we practiced our shoe tying skills and the boys did very well. No one gave up and they stick through with the task!

For social skills today we joined Ms. Andrea's class to talk about the Zones of Regulation, and how to play with our friends. The boys then participated in a "Play Master" session where one friend gets five minutes to dictate and run a game with their own rules. After five minutes is up the next friend gets to be the 'play master', and so on. This is a great game for social skills, communication, turn taking, creativity, fine motor skills, and emotions.

In the sensory gym we worked on our hand-eye coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, motor planning, fine and gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, math, time, phonics and rhyming skills, and balance and coordination.

At the end of the day we threw a dance party for Mr. Jeremy's 21st Birthday, and because today is his last day : ( We gave him homemade cards, had some popcorn and Oreo cake, and showed off our dance moves. Thank you for all of your support, kindness, and positive energy Mr. Jeremy. All the best from Mr. Jacob's class! : )

Have a great evening gentlemen and see you all tomorrow!

Mr. Jacob : )
