Mr. Evan was our teacher today and led the class through time (past, present, and future), calendar work (years, months, days, and weeks), emotions and feelings, morning greetings, and the Zones of Regulation.
Afterwards we worked on our pizza party planning and completed some tricky multiplication, addition, subtraction, and fractions work to finalize our costs and pizza orders. The boys worked very well togeteher!
During language arts we went over nouns, adjectives, descriptive language, and questioning techniques. The boys did very well using all of the above to try and guess what objects Mr. Jacob had hidden in brown paper bags. This activity also utilized their team work, sportsmanship, oral communication and application skills. They ended up solving all three objects: a golf tee, a mini basketball, and our classroom vibrating speaker.
In gym class today we played several fun games using our school parachute. The boys demonstrated great auditory processing skills, hand-eye coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, motor planning, fine and gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, math, and balance and coordination.
After lunch we worked on our fine motor skills by practicing how to tie up our laces using homemade shoes. This was very difficult but everyone tried their very best!
In social skills today we discussed drama, acting, and role play. The boys did very well acting out and making up different characters, as well as creating dialogue and a story line. This session utilized their turn taking, creativity, bilateral movements, abstract thinking, language and drama skills.
In the sensory gym we worked on our hand-eye coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, motor planning, fine and gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, math, time, phonics and rhyming skills, and balance and coordination.
