To start off our day the boys were adamant that we play ball tag for their morning exercise. The boys demonstrated great auditory processing skills, hand-eye coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, motor planning, fine and gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, math, and balance and coordination.
Mr. Evan was our teacher today and led the class through time (past, present, and future), calendar work (years, months, days, and weeks), emotions and feelings, and morning greetings.
During Math the boys had to engage in some social problem solving using their time management, addition, and multiplication skills. Everyone had to choose an activity, see how much time we have to complete our activity, figure out who goes first, then play our activities in proper order while keeping time. In a strange turn of events, the first activity they chose was......Lego's!!!! Weird, I know. Haha.
In Language Arts Eric participated in his 1:1 Reading/ Phonics session with Ms. Amber while Avery and Evan started to type out our pizza party letters. We went over what it should say, how much money we need, calendar dates for No Frills and for the actual party day, and what a proper letter looks like.
In Gym we started off playing a real life version of Rock, Paper, Scissors using our bodies. Next, we play a fun tag type game called, Fireball! The boys demonstrated great auditory processing skills, hand-eye coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, motor planning, fine and gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, math, and balance and coordination.
The afternoon began with some social problem solving and discussing our emotions, feelings, and Zones of Regulations. Two of our friends were upset for different reasons, and another friend was feeling sick. We spent some time talking, co-regulating, and figuring out our emotions and feelings.
In the sensory gym we worked on our hand-eye coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, motor planning, fine and gross motor skills, proprioception skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, math, time, phonics and rhyming skills, and balance and coordination.
At the end of the day we went over our 3D Shape Toss game. The boys demonstrated great addition and multiplication skills, geometry skills, auditory processing skills, oral communication, hand-eye coordination, and gross motor skills.
Have a great evening gentlemen and I hope to see everyone tomorrow!
Mr. Jacob : )
