Happy Monday Parents and Carers!

Unfortunately our friend Avery is still catching a tan in Florida, and wasn't with us today. But the other two boys had a busy day focusing on time management, number sense and numeracy, team building skills, and emotions.

Here is Eric adding up our scores during a fun math game involving addition, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills.

Evan went right to work this morning completing his sensory diet with Mr. Jared in the auditorium.

Here is Evan practicing his stand-up comedy skit! Haha just joking. Evan is busy working hard on his mouth exercises for his Speech and Language routine.

The boys practicing their Christmas dance moves for our concert!

Evan was the teacher today and helped us look at our daily time table, time management using time lines, days, weeks, and months on our calendar, the weather, and how we were feeling this morning.

During our team building activity, Eric and Evan were tied together in order to work the magic squares board. With their being tied both boys had to engage in two-way communication, problem solving and compromising skills, and teamwork!

Here we are focused and working diligently on our JUMP Math Time work sheets. Both gentlemen are doing fantastic with time, and there is progress daily.

Eric and I had the opportunity to read a story about a boy, mom, and dad, and the different things that they all like. Eric did very good with his comprehension skills, reading skills, decoding skills, and character/emotion comprehension.

Eric was very keen to try out different math problems he came up with, for example 46 + 46.

In Gym class today, the boys got into groups with their friends in Ms. Jessica and Ms. Andrea's classes. They had to create letters, numbers, and shapes using their own bodies! It was a lot of fun, and there was some great teamwork, two-way conversation, and problem solving going on.
The letter E!
An O!
Problem solving at work!
A traingle!

During Minute to Win It the boys were very focused and determined to beat the clock while practicing their fine motor skills, bilateral movements, hand-eye coordination skills, math skills, and sportsmanship.

The boys did awesome in the sensory gym creating their won obstacle courses. The activities we worked on challenged them in various ways. Here is what they both worked on: math and rhyming skills, hand-eye coordination, vestibular and proprioception abilities/skills, bilateral movements, fine and gross motor skills, and sportsmanship.

Music Therapy completed our busy but rewarding day with some cool instruments and Christmas music.

Have a great evening and see you all tomorrow!

Happy Friday Parents and Carers!

Due to a Florida family trip and the American Thanksgiving, we had one lone friend in class today! Eric did have lots of fun in Art and Science with his friends in Ms. Jessica and Ms. Andrea's classes.

Here's Eric starting the day off with a game called Math Balls. Eric uses his number sense & numeracy skills, hand-eye coordination, fine motor motor skills, and sportsmanship. He did an amazing job keeping track of the scores and adding the scores all on his own.

In Art today, our friends had to choose a Christmas picture that they wanted to "colour". I provided them with only a glue stick and said, "Start colouring your picture!" There were exchanged looks of confusion, dead air, and then subtle uncomfortable shuffles amongst our friends. We finally noticed three large piles of different materials in different colours. Eric and his peers had to choose various textures and colours to paste onto their pictures. It was a lot of fun and such a cool exploratory problem-solving art lesson.

Here is Eric, William, and Mr. Jared sticking on grains, felt, sponges, cotton, and chocolate chips to colour in their snow man!

After lots of great work, creativity, fine motor skills, and teamwork, we had to work together and clean up our mess.

In Science today we continued looking at our different senses. The past couple weeks, as well as art today, we have been using our sense of touch in Science and Art. Today, we played a new Simon Says game and a Sounds Bingo game to explore our sense of hearing. Everyone did very well concentrating on various sounds, for example pop corn popping, a train moving on tracks, car wheels screeching, a meowing cat, a dinosaur roaring, and Pac Man! It was a lot of fun, and everyone worked well together in a social skills/ science lesson on sounds.

What a great way to end another successful and busy week! Have a fun and restful weekend, and we shall see all three of our friends on Monday!

Good evening Parents and Carers!

It was so nice seeing those of you that could come on by to the Science Fair! Our exhibit was a little chaotic and loud, but that only means that it was fun and exciting! : )

We had such a great, lively day full of awesome work. Both boys worked extremely well together and also did great with their 1:1 work.

Evan, as usual, wanted to check out our daily schedule and how the time management looked like for the day.

Here are the boys checking out our science display before the mayhem ensued!

Here is our friend Evan hard at work completing his morning Sensory Circuit and working on vestibular movement, bilateral movement, gross motor skills, and proprioception skills.

Eric and I played a fun Math game that got us using our hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and number sense & numeracy skills. Eric scored 95 points while I got a measly 46!

The boys went over the calendar, the concept of time, and the weather together after their 1:1 activities.

We then got together with our fellow scientists in Ms. Jessica and Ms. Andrea's class. The boys did a great job explaining what we did to the judge.

After our science demonstration the boys participated in a team building Magic Squares session.

Next, they joined their St. Judes friends for a Grade 2 Art lesson with Ms. Kerr.

After art, the boys wanted to have a Share & Tell session as one of our friends will not be here tomorrow. Here are the boys showing off one of their favourite stuffed animals, and explaining why they brought them in. They used great oral communication skills, two-way conversation skills, answered why questions, and also had lots of descriptive words!

Playing basketball and Pac Man tag at recess.

While Evan completed his Sensory Diet, Eric and I looked at time and phonics. Eric did so good during our phonics game and once again, he won!

In the afternoon the boys joined St. Judes' Grade 1 class for gym. They did tremendous helping their team in soccer and had loads of fun.

Minute to Win It- fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, bilateral movement, math sills, sportsmanship.

In the Sensory Gym the boys had lots of fun working on their rhyming skills, math skills, fine and gross motor skills, vestibular and bilateral movements, hand-eye coordination, and proprioception skills.

At teh very end of the day the boys showed their parents and family members what we did for the Science Fair. It was great seeing everyone have so much fun!

Happy American Thanksgiving to Evan, and we will see you tomorrow!
