Happy Friday Parents and Carers!

It was a very busy and active half day today. The boys had a blast participating in St. Judes and Oakwood points assembly, show-and-tell, drama therapy, art, and science!

After morning assembly the boys each brought in something for Show and Tell (we are going to be doing this every Friday from now on) and had the opportunity to stand in front of the class and show their friends something that has meaning to them. It was a lot of fun and I cannot wait to see other things our friends bring in on Fridays!

We had a brand new lesson today with a Drama Therapist named, Mr. Matthew. He led the boys through some silly drama activities that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. At the end of the session the boys got to make animals and other silly creatures out of play-doh.

After drama the boys were still very excited, and so, we decided to play magical chairs as a class!

Here is Eric and Avery fixed on their prize!

When our friend Evan got out he became our DJ!

Unfortunately we had indoor recess again as our play ground resembles something similar to a swamp! Here are the boys making cool things with their friends during recess.

During Art and Science we looked at various materials and brain stormed different things we could make out of them. Our school is participating in a Science Fair at the end of November and we were all very excited. Our friends in Ms. Jessica and Ms. Andrea's class joined us in our exploratory and inference making science discussion. We all brain stormed our ideas and figured out that we are making our own Race Cars! One of our friends asked, "How is this Science?" It was a very good question and yet again, we had a great chat on how race cars can be science. In the end, we discovered that we are going to be learning about movement (motion), speed, and the best road (surface) for our cars to race on.

It was so much fun seeing our friends work in their partner and small group teams, and engage in problem solving skills as well as team building skills.

What a great way to end our short week at Oakwood Academy. Have a great weekend friends and see you all on Monday!

Mr. Jacob : )
