Unfortunately our friend Avery is still catching a tan in Florida, and wasn't with us today. But the other two boys had a busy day focusing on time management, number sense and numeracy, team building skills, and emotions.
Here is Eric adding up our scores during a fun math game involving addition, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills.
Evan went right to work this morning completing his sensory diet with Mr. Jared in the auditorium.
Here is Evan practicing his stand-up comedy skit! Haha just joking. Evan is busy working hard on his mouth exercises for his Speech and Language routine.
The boys practicing their Christmas dance moves for our concert!
During our team building activity, Eric and Evan were tied together in order to work the magic squares board. With their being tied both boys had to engage in two-way communication, problem solving and compromising skills, and teamwork!
Here we are focused and working diligently on our JUMP Math Time work sheets. Both gentlemen are doing fantastic with time, and there is progress daily.
Eric and I had the opportunity to read a story about a boy, mom, and dad, and the different things that they all like. Eric did very good with his comprehension skills, reading skills, decoding skills, and character/emotion comprehension.
Eric was very keen to try out different math problems he came up with, for example 46 + 46.
In Gym class today, the boys got into groups with their friends in Ms. Jessica and Ms. Andrea's classes. They had to create letters, numbers, and shapes using their own bodies! It was a lot of fun, and there was some great teamwork, two-way conversation, and problem solving going on.
The letter E!
An O!
Problem solving at work!
A traingle!
During Minute to Win It the boys were very focused and determined to beat the clock while practicing their fine motor skills, bilateral movements, hand-eye coordination skills, math skills, and sportsmanship.
The boys did awesome in the sensory gym creating their won obstacle courses. The activities we worked on challenged them in various ways. Here is what they both worked on: math and rhyming skills, hand-eye coordination, vestibular and proprioception abilities/skills, bilateral movements, fine and gross motor skills, and sportsmanship.
Music Therapy completed our busy but rewarding day with some cool instruments and Christmas music.
Have a great evening and see you all tomorrow!
Mr. Jacob : )
