Happy Monday Parents and Carers!

The boys started off the week with a bang! They all did excellent work in various partner/problem solving activities, and learned some new things in measurement today.

Morning circle/ Time Management/ Calendar and Weather

Regulation/ Exercise Time

Discussing our feelings and emotions by using Feeling Faces, Colours, Hang Man, and Objects of Reference!

Using centimetres and metres to measure objects inside and outside of the classroom.

In Language Arts the boys read a short story about three boys who had super powers to help other people. The boys had to find and read all of our weekly spelling words in the story, as well as rhyming words. After we read the story together, the boys had to make up the super powers and explain how the powers they chose can help people.

There was a lot of great two way conversation, debate, discussion, and brain storming!

In Gym class today we played a partner game called Huckle Buckle with our friends in Ms. Jessica and Ms. Andrea's classes. It was a lot of fun, and the boys worked on gross motor skills, balance and coordination, proprioception, bilateral movement, auditory processing, and team work!

To begin the afternoon, the boys participated in three Minute to Win It activities working on bilateral movement, fine and gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, math skills, and concentration.
The boys had to use their pincer grip and fine motor skills to pick up different coloured pom pom balls using plastic tweezers. The objective was to transfer a specific number of different coloured pom pom balls to the proper spot in an egg carton, in under a minute.

After Minute to Win It we continued completing our race cars by working with a partner to come up with a structural design, and think about wheels, support, durability, and the frame.

Apparently we are natural mechanics and the race cars are looking great! By the end of the week we get to test our cars on different surfaces!

During our Sensory Gym session we worked on fine and gross motor skills, balance and coordination, proprioception, bilateral movement, auditory processing, sequencing, math queasitons and team work!

Lastly, we finished off the day rocking out in Music Therapy!

Have a great evening and see you all tomorrow!

Mr. Jacob : )
