The week flies by, especially when Thursday is a Friday! Yes, tomorrow is a PD Day and the boys get to sleep in (yeah right haha).
It was a fun and exciting day as we had a new schedule today. The boys participated in a St. Judes Grade1/2 Physical Education class. They did absolutely amazing in soccer and made some new friends too! From now on, every Thursday we will be attending the St. Judes Grade 1/2 gym class from 1:00-1:30 p.m. Here are a few great photos:
The morning circle went very well and we discussed our emotions, the weather, our calendar, and time in relation to days, months, and present, past, and future. We then worked together during Magic Squares to figure out Mr. Jacob's secret routes through the squares.
In math the boys continued their work on measurement based from the JUMP Math curriculum. They are all doing very well and enjoy learning about measurement.
After snack and recess the boys joined Ms. Hope and Ms. Andrea's class for some Floortime Partner Play. The boys chose Lego's and the cash register, and created their own toy making business! It was a lot of fun and they all did well with their numeracy skills, money, role play, life skills, creativity, and two way conversation skills.
After Floortime the boys had fun participating in different spelling games: Rainbow Word Dice, Word Fishing, and Build It Spelling Worksheets. We were preparing for the Spelling Quiz at the end of the day! Unfortunately, one of our friend shad a dentist appointment and had to leave for the remainder of the day during this time.
The boys joined the St. Judes Grade 1/2 gym class after lunch and had a blast! We then went into the sensory gym for some regulation time, and to work on our fine and gross motor skills, sequencing skills, bilateral movement, balance and coordination, hand-eye coordination, turn taking, and proprioception skills.
At the end of the day we completed a Spelling Quiz, and then had fun with four different Minute to Win It Games!
What a fantastic day! Have a great long weekend and see you Monday!
Mr. Jacob : )
