Our team of two had a great day focusing on team work and problem solving skills. They also did fantastic joining two different classes from St. Judes in Art and Gym.
The day began with our usual morning routine containing assembly, greetings, calendar, weather, and feelings. The boys then took part in their own sensory circuits to help them stay regulated and ready to learn!
Here are the boys engaging in a team work activity involving their number sense and numeracy skills, as well as phonological awareness, phonemic awareness, and spelling.
We got the pleasure to meet our new friend Zachary, who will be joining our class in January! The boys taught him our fun Math game called 'Bingo Bots'. Everyone is looking forward to having Zack in our class for the new year.
Here are some photos of the two boys interacting with new and old friends from St. Judes in a Grade 2 Art class. They had a blast!
At recess we played Pac Man tag outdoors and enjoyed the sunshine!
After lunch and recess we joined St. Judes for Gym class with friends from Grade 1/2.
The 'Team'!
Eric putting fear into the other team's forwards!
Evan on the offensive attack!
In the Sensory Gym we worked on bilateral movement, proprioception, balance and coordination, fine and gross motor skills, and Math and Spelling skills.
To finish the day off, the boys worked together using plastic cubes, wooden cubes, and popsicle sticks to create different structures. They had to make three different structures together: (a) a structure with a plastic cup base; (b) a structure with a wooden cube base; and (c) the tallest structure possible.
See you all tomorrow and have a lovely evening.
Mr. Jacob : )
