Happy Friday, I mean Tuesday Parents and Carers!

It feels like a Friday with no school tomorrow! Haha

The boys did very well today working on brain storming, problem solving, compromising, team work, two-way conversation, and turn taking skills. All of these skills were worked on in every lesson, with another emphasis on time management.

Here we are starting the day by discussing the weather, calendar, and time, as well as Remembrance Day.

With all that thinking our brains were sore and our bodies needed to move! The boys did well dancing, and then calming down and managing their engines.

We also got to problem solve and use time management skills when deciding what to do during Choice Based Play and Team Building Activities.

Lego Play
Magic Squares
Animal Movements

Saving George the Gummy Worm

One of our time lines for time management and compromising.

During language arts we looked at silly sentences in the book, Never Take a Shark to the Dentist, and practiced inferencing and making predictions, as well as brain storming and reasoning.

After morning snack and recess we got to have fun and socialize with our friends in Ms. Hope and Ms. Andrea class. The boys used Play-Doh during Partner Play and had fun creating baked goods, animals, and other various objects in a role-play scenario.

Gym class was another round of Octopus Tag, but we added underwater obstacles like a crab, lobster, sharks, rocks, tunnels, and plants. All of the students used their voices and problem solving skills to compromise how the game is played, and who should be the octopus first.

During Minute to Win It the boys worked on their fine motor skills, bilateral skills, math skills, hand-eye coordination, concentration, patience, and sportsmanship.

In social skills the boys discussed, read about, and participated in an experiment regarding "Volcano Mouth". This was a great session looking at turn taking, volume, appropriate conversation, and what tips us over the edge.

The boys created their own language and math oriented obstacle courses in the sensory gym today.

Here are the boys paying their respects and having fun in the Remembrance Day assembly with St. Judes.

At eh end of the day the boys participated in a Train Your Brain/ Team Building activity where they had to problem solve and think out-of-the-box to solve different puzzles using toothpicks. It was a blast!

Enjoy your day off tomorrow and see you all Thursday!

Mr. Jacob : )
